Who we are
Optimal Delusion is a Flagstaff based rock 'n' roll cover band. We perform classics from bands such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, as well as modern rock hits from groups including The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Greta Van Fleet, The White Stripes, and many more.

Drums fill my soul. Supporting the rhythm section in a variety of bands over the past thirty years has gifted me with amazing friendships, great travel experiences, and a continued love for learning new songs.
I started in 5th grade with a CB700 rent to own snare from Milano Music. Fast forward thirty years to a mid-life crisis, I now enjoy playing on my seven piece DW Performance Series kit and they teach me new sounds with every hit. Complemented with Zildjian A Custom series cymbals, I'm in heaven.
I founded Optimal Delusion in 2022 with the interest to bring fun and familiar sounds to the streets of flagstaff. The band continues to evolve with incredible talents contributing to keepin' the dream alive!!

What’s Up Party People!
One might ask, “how does a loud mouthed, verbose, handsome son of a gun with people skills become a lead singer in a rock band?”.
Anyways, this whole Rock Band thing is a blast. I get to rock out with some truly talented individuals, I get to dance and scream and shout and do all the crazy things you see rockers do and you should come check us out cause otherwise I’d look insane if I did all those things and there was no crowd.
I have been singing in choirs since I was in 2nd grade, and I have been singing in shower since no of your business. Ask me about my favorite songs from the set.

Guitar
Alex is an active educator and performer based out of Flagstaff, Arizona. He holds both and Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from Arizona State University where he studied with internationally renowned pedagogue Professor Frank Koonce. He has performed in several venues throughout Arizona including the Orpheum Theater, the Herberger Theater, the Musical Instrument Museum, the Temper Center for the Arts, the Kerr Cultural Center, and the Coconino Center for the Arts. He has also appeared as a guest artist for the Verve Dance Company, the Phoenix Guitar Society, the Grand Canyon Guitar Society, ASU Women & Philanthropy, Walton Sustainability Solutions, K-BACH, and the National Society of Arts and Letters.
